She is the sister of Flandre Scarlet, the mistress of Hong Meiling and Sakuya Izayoi as well as the other fairy maids and the friend of Patchouli Knowledge. She first appears as the Stage 6 boss and main antagonist of the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil and has been a playable character in multiple games since Imperishable Night, in a team with Sakuya, and Immaterial and Missing Power as well. Personality While she tries to cultivate the image of a mysterious and frightening vampire aristocrat, she is surprisingly polite. Her long lifetime has only served to make her prone to boredom and as a result she prizes anything she finds novel, frequently indulging her own childish whims in order to create entertainment for herself. In Silent Sinner in Blue she allows herself to be manipulated by Yukari Yakumo, simply because the alternative would have been boring. The other residents of the Scarlet Devil Mansion spend much of their time catering to Remilia's odd whims (including numerous parties), though she does make an effort to appreciate and respect their patience. Remilia is respected by most youkai of Gensokyo and so she's said to have a charismatic personality. However, in reality this is only because of the fear they have for her kind. While she can act in an overblown and grandiose fashion, she usually only does it during incidents or for important matters. Otherwise, she tends to exhibit childish behavior. She enjoys novel things and isn't above playing along in silly games or allowing herself to be manipulated if it means staving off boredom. Her behavior may be due to the fact she actually has the wisdom of a 500 year old being with the whims and patience of someone who has yet to fully mature. Yet, it remains to be said that she has an overflowing and charming personality that even makes most fairies stick around as employees despite their freedom to leave at any time. Sakuya Izayoi (十六夜　咲夜 Izayoi Sakuya) is the chief maid and only human of the Scarlet Devil Mansion who is capable of stopping time and also specializes in throwing knifes. Sakuya first appeared as the Stage 5 boss of Embodiment of Scarlet Devil and has been a playable character in multiple games since Perfect Cherry Blossom. Personality Her personality seems perfect and elegant, being a fairly serious person overall, as befitting of a maid. Although due to the nature of the mistress of the house, it is arguable whether she serves the role of a maid or a babysitter. Sometimes she shows a more spaced-out and airheaded side, and can be surprisingly unreliable. She's polite and pleasant towards to her mistress Remilia Scarlet and those she's close with, such as Patchouli Knowledge, while being less formal with other people. She doesn't hang out with other humans or youkai too often, so they mostly see her as a demon's servant, while she does act like one from time to time. She was reprimanded by Eiki Shiki, Yamaxanadu for this, specially for her coldness and indifference to humans. Still, some humans will overlook this, and she sometimes stands in as an incident resolver, mostly when it's somewhat in her mistress's interest or interest of the mansion. For example, she worked with Reimu and Marisa to catch a sake-stealing beast. When the Miracle Mallet's magic affected one of her knives in Double Dealing Character, she became more open to the idea of using her knives. Even when she realized that the magic was taking advantage of a weakness in her heart, she decided to keep a sword filled with that magic and use it, which could indicate that she has a more bloodthirsty side.  According to Hieda no Akyuu in Perfect Memento in Strict Sense, "she claims to be in her late teens", but acts with the mannerisms of someone older and the level of her ability seems like that of a human that's been living for more than a hundred years. Marisa Kirisame (霧雨　魔理沙 Kirisame Marisa) is an ordinary human magician who specializes in light and heat magic and currently resides in the Forest of Magic. She is considered to be the deuteragonist of the Touhou Project series along with the main protagonist, Reimu Hakurei. Personality Outwardly, Marisa is an outgoing and informal person. Hieda no Akyuu states that her personality is condescending, but she has a sophisticated side to her that tends to be interesting.She socializes with many inhabitants of Gensokyo and is friendly to both human and non-humans individuals. She's quick to act if she hears or sees anything interesting, sometimes doing dangerous things to satiate her interest at the time like when she follows an eagle on a whim in the middle of a blizzard. She speaks in an informal manner and typically uses the sentence ending particle ze (ぜ). "Ze" used at the end of verb stems delivers a "boyish" and "impolite" sound to the listener/reader. Ze is mostly used in a context to express one's will to act (similar to "let's" in English), and using it in other cases sounds somewhat unnatural, perhaps "phony" or "showy". In the past, Marisa was known to be a habitual liar, such as when she claimed to be Reimu Hakurei to avoid being troubled by Flandre Scarlet or when she blamed various crimes on Alice Margatroid to get Reimu out of the way. When Reimu summoned birds that she claimed to be celestial’s familiars, they started biting Marisa because "they gather around people who tell lies".[7] She even got judged by Eiki Shiki, Yamaxanadu for it, saying that if she was her judge at that moment Marisa would be punished for lying with her tongue being removed[8] — an event that led her being more honest for some time. She has a mania for collecting things and exhibits knowledge of various valuable and/or magical objects around Gensokyo. She has been frequently seen foraging (or looting) in many places for various materials, be it mushrooms, parts of a dragon, or just whatever she thinks looks interesting at the time. That said, her hoarding habit does result in her not knowing or forgetting what objects are in her house.
