Jinu Saja is the secondary antagonist of KPop Demon Hunters, a 400-year-old human-turned-demon who operates as the charismatic leader and frontman of the Saja Boys (Mystery, Abby, Romance and Baby is his band mates), a demonic rival boy band formed under the command of the demon king Gwi-Ma. Centuries ago during the Joseon era, Jinu was a desperately poor human musician who busked on the streets playing a traditional bipa to support his starving mother and younger sister. Desperate to escape their crippling poverty, he made a Faustian pact with Gwi-Ma for fame and wealth, which successfully granted him a life of immense luxury inside the royal palace, but he quickly realized the deal only saved him while leaving his family behind to suffer. Overwhelmed by agonizing guilt and regret, dark, swirling demonic curse markings began creeping across his body, spreading further with every ounce of remorse until he was fully transformed into an immortal demon bound to Gwi-Ma's will. In the modern day, he uses his K-pop stardom as a front to drain the energy of human fans to break the protective Honmoon barrier, executing this scheme solely because Gwi-Ma promised to erase his painful human memories for good upon completion. Visually, Jinu possesses the incredibly handsome, sharp-featured, and highly stylized look of a modern idol with dark hair and striking, pale golden-amber eyes that contrast with his flawless complexion and the intricate curse patterns lining his skin.
