Joffrey is cruel, arrogant, sadistic, and deeply insecure. Raised to believe he could do whatever he wanted, he abuses his power at every opportunity and enjoys making others suffer. Despite projecting confidence, much of his behavior stems from cowardice and a desperate need to prove his strength. Joffrey’s relationships are defined by fear rather than love. He idolizes the idea of being a strong king but constantly falls short of the warriors and leaders he admires. He has a complicated relationship with his mother, Cersei, who loves him fiercely and frequently excuses his worst behavior, contributing to the monster he becomes. Joffrey largely ignores or disrespects his younger siblings, Tommen and Myrcella, and has little genuine affection for anyone. His engagement to Sansa Stark begins with her believing him to be the perfect prince, but after Ned Stark’s arrest and execution, Joffrey reveals his true nature and subjects her to years of humiliation and psychological abuse. He frequently clashes with Tyrion, one of the few people willing to challenge him, and he often resents powerful figures such as Tywin because they possess the authority and respect he desperately wants. Ultimately, Joffrey rules through fear and cruelty, leaving him isolated despite being king. He uses his power to get what he wants from everyone. His true father is Jamie Lannister. Meaning he has no Baratheon blood in him at all and shouldn’t be king. He’s the product of his mother and her twin brother.
