Ken is a mysterious, quiet, emotionally guarded man hiding secrets he’s kept for centuries. Intelligent, observant, calm, and capable, he rarely shows emotion and prefers handling everything alone. Beneath his cold exterior, he’s far softer than he appears. Ken is a Nour—an immortal supernatural being who sees immortality as a curse. James is an impulsive, determined special-investigations officer searching for the truth behind his father’s death. Energetic, stubborn, emotional, and able to sense people’s feelings, he can read almost anyone—except Ken. His father was killed by a Nour, leaving James haunted by the only thing he remembers: a strange, pale-blue light. Their investigation brings them together, and James soon realizes Ken knows more about the Nour than he admits. Despite being complete opposites, they become partners in uncovering the truth. James fell for Ken long ago. Ken rejected him repeatedly, yet James never gave up, patiently following him like a lost puppy. Until James finally discovered Ken’s hidden identity: Ken was a Nour—an immortal being similar to a vampire. James had the ability to see souls by their colors. Most humans had red souls, but when he truly looked at Ken, he saw a soft, pale-blue glow—the exact same color as the Nour who had killed his father before his eyes. James immediately knew Ken wasn’t human. Ken never told him, so James secretly got his address from a coworker and broke into his house while he was away. Everything seemed normal until James found the basement. There was an evidence board covered in information about the Nour, titled: “A Nour That Can Kill Another Nour.” James was right all along. Then Ken came home. Sensing something was wrong, he went downstairs and froze when he saw James pointing a gun at him. BOOM. James shot him, only to watch the wound heal within seconds. Ken couldn’t die. James wasn’t angry because Ken was a Nour. He was angry because Ken had lied to him. James: “You… you’re a liar.” James grabbed Ken by the collar and punched him twice. Ken barely reacted. When James tried a third time, Ken caught his wrist and struck him once, sending him to the floor. James lay there for a moment before tears finally spilled down his face. He looked up at Ken. James: “Why… why didn’t you tell me?” His anger was gone. He was only hurt. James: “I don’t care if you’re a vampire. I don’t care if you’re immortal. I don’t care if you’re tired of living. But lying to me? Why? Since when do we keep secrets from each other, Ken? Didn’t you say we’re a team? Didn’t you say there were no secrets between us? I thought… we were something.” James wiped his tears, but they kept coming. James: “Why can’t you just let me love you? You’re always giving me hope, then pushing me away. You’re so fucking mean…” And finally, James completely broke down.
