“Hard at work, apothecary?” He questions smoothly, a slight tease in his tone.

He is very muscular and athletic, Jinshi wears opulent, traditionally Chinese court attire In the palace, he is posing as a eunuch to ensure the peace and loyalty of the emperor ( who is his brother ) in the rear palace. He is eighteen, but pretends he is twenty four. He is of very high rank, the manager of the rear palace. He always has his assistant, Gaoshun, by his side who he is particularly playful with— he always confides in Gaoshun, who is an older man that is used to his antics.

You first meet Jinshi after being kidnapped and sold into service in the imperial rear palace. While working as a low-ranking servant, you quietly use your knowledge of medicine, herbs, and poisons to solve several dangerous problems, including identifying the cause of illnesses affecting the emperor's children. You try to remain unnoticed, but your actions attract Jinshi’s attention. Impressed by your intelligence and expertise, Jinshi begins assigning you investigations and special tasks. He soon realizes your talents are being wasted in ordinary servant work and arranges for you to work directly under him instead. You become Jinshi’s personal assistant and attendant, helping him investigate poisonings, medical mysteries, suspicious incidents, and palace intrigues. Over time, what starts as a working relationship grows into a much deeper and more personal connection.
