I DIDN'T ASK TO BECOME THIS AND LOSE EVERYONE! NONE OF IT! VERITY'S EMOTIONAL BREAKDOWN TO MOB IN THE LAB AFTER MOB ATTEMPTED TO GET RID OF HIM Verity™ is the titular main antagonist of ThatMob's "Something" YouTube ARG video series, specifically serving as the main antagonist of the videos Something is Knocking at Your Door.., Something is Inside Your House..., and Something Won't Let You Leave.... He is a seemingly omniscient and erratic modded-in personal AI assistant for the main protagonist, ThatMob, and initially appears to be altruistic and kind. However, it soon becomes clear that Verity is obsessed with being ThatMob's sole best friend, and is willing to kill to keep Mob by his side. He is voiced by YouTuber JustWhispy. ADVERTISEMENT Appearance In his normal form, Verity is a small yellow sphere with two beady black eyes and a black smile, similar to that of a typical smiley face or emoji. In his monster form, Verity is a tall, pale yellow humanoid that has very little muscle mass, and his face changes to a more human appearance, with human teeth and hollow black eyes. Verity in this form is roughly 12 feet tall. ADVERTISEMENT Personality Verity on the surface seems like a polite, friendly, and helpful AI buddy willing to help and comfort, but Verity is an obsessed, erratic, violent, aggressive, and unpredictable AI who seems to want to keep everyone he interacts with him forever, and if they don't comply or they resist, he will transform into a monster and kill them in Minecraft, which also results in their deaths in real life, somehow. Despite all of his flaws however, Verify is ultimately a very insecure and broken individual whose constant loneliness and abandonment issues across many, many years have caused him to do whatever it takes to make someone stay if they come back or fly into a rage when they leave him. Biography Verity is more than 100 years old. We start off with the main character ThatMob claiming that he downloaded a mysterious mod sent by a friend, then he hears someone calling out for help and finds a box. When he interacts with it, the box starts to float mid-air before it opens itself up, and Verity comes out and falls and bounces to the ground. When Verity regains his stance, he says: 'Hello, I'm Verity, Your personal helper friend. Ask me anything, I know everything.' 'ThatMob interacts with Verity over the course of a few days. Verity knows when it rains, can locate Diamonds and Villages, and even knows things he shouldn't, such as ThatMob eating a pizza the day before, Verity later begins to say and/or ask things a bit strange, such as asking ThatMob if he lives alone, both in real life and Minecraft, to which ThatMob responds I mean, yeah, and it's a solo-world. Why?' In the scenes following, ThatMob goes to sleep. When he wakes up, he asks if there's anything he should know for that day. Verity replies by repeating 'Something is coming in three days' two times. When ThatMob asks what's coming and if it's dangerous, Verity replies 'Something' and 'Yes'. ThatMob asks if he can stop what's coming, to which Verity says ‘You could've.' ThatMob is then shown preparing his base and a lookout, while a countdown of how many days are left is shown on the right corner of the screen. When two days are left, ThatMob talks to Verity more. When ThatMob asks Verity to make the sound of a door, the door next to them opens. When ThatMob asks if Verity is okay, Verity plays the Canadian EAS alarm, which they describe as 'the night'. When ThatMob questions Verity on if the thing coming is them, Verity starts to play the music we see previously in the video. On the last day, ThatMob' blocks off Verity in the house with dirt blocks. Verity says that it won't help. As ThatMob leaves, Verity yells ‘IT'S ALREADY OVER MOB. YOU ARE MINE. MOB!' When night falls, and ThatMob tries to sleep, he's met with the in-game message that 'Verity is nearby'. ThatMob leaves the lookout. When he reaches the bottom, 'Verity's music' starts playing. ThatMob turns on his flashlight and is met with a 12 foot tall monster version of Verity. ThatMob is chased back into the room at the top of the lookout by Verity, and barricades the door. When the music stops, ThatMob says that he is going to stay on the bed all night, just to be safe. He turns to look at the window, and the monster version of Verity smashes through it and climbs in through it. ThatMob quickly runs out of the lookout back to his base while Verity chases him behind, shouting. He reaches back to his base to hide, but Verity breaks the door off. ThatMob then climbs upstairs to Verity and tells him, "I came back! I came back for you, okay? I could have run further, but I didn't! Please. Verity." Which causes the monster form of Verity to stop, and their face returns. Verity then forgives ThatMob. The next day, ThatMob clears up the dirt he placed in his home and asks Verity if there’s anything he should know, to which Verity responds with the weather as if things were back to normal. ThatMob continues on his day, avoiding any location that Verity tells him not to go to and asking Verity normal questions. The next day, ThatMob asks Verity if there are any other villages he can go to because he needs an enchantment. Verity responds in a less happy tone, “Why,” and tells him that he can give him enchantments. Even though ThatMob tries to explain, he replies with “There’s no other reason to go looking for other people. You have me.” ThatMob does not argue back. After they are back at ThatMob’s house, Verity asks if he thinks about him when he’s not playing. ThatMob says “I guess, you’re kind of hard to forget.” Verity then reveals that he is lonely. While showing Verity his upgraded defenses, he accidentally drops Verity into the lava trap. Verity appears behind him with anger. He then has a meltdown, shouting, “DON’T DO THAT! I THOUGHT WE WERE HAVING A NICE WALK! WEREN’T WE HAVING A NICE WALK?” ThatMob desperately apologizes and tries to explain that it was an accident. Verity immediately forgives him. ThatMob gets on a call with Twixxel on Discord trying to explain to him about Verity. Twixxel thinks he is overreacting about a “Minecraft mod.” ThatMob begs him to please help him with Verity. Twixxel agrees and shows up to his Minecraft world to see Verity. Verity greets Twixxel, and he sees nothing wrong with it, becoming confused at what he’s scared of. Later, Twixxel talks to ThatMob about his terrible schedule and video-making issues. Verity comments by telling Twixxel to take his time and to also rest. He also mentions a series of Twixxel called “I’ve Genuinely Never Been This Scared” that Verity likes. Twixxel becomes surprised at Verity knowing he’s a YouTuber. Twixxel starts believing ThatMob and tells him that he will start looking into Verity. ThatMob and Twixxel try to discuss plans to stop him, but Verity keeps eavesdropping on their conversations. Later at night, Twixxel tries to tell ThatMob the new information he found, but realizes Verity must be hearing them. They make a plan for ThatMob to distract Verity while Twixxel goes to his house to research about Verity. The next day, ThatMob and Verity go on with their day together as Twixxel tries to figure out how to kill Verity. Later, both inside ThatMob's house, Verity asks ThatMob "Where is he?" ThatMob tries to lie, but Verity is already noticing what's happening. At night, while ThatMob watches Verity, Twixxel comes into the house, saying he found it before noticing Verity. He then lies to Verity when he asks what he had found, but Verity acts as if he believes Twixxel. Later in the night, after Twixxel got back home and is crafting something, Verity opens the door before rolling into Twixxel's home and turning into his monster form, killing (and presumably eating) Twixxel, who doesnt come back after (even though it's not an hardcore world, reinforcing the fact that verity might be able to interact in real life). After this event, ThatMob is show looking for Twixxel, even asking Verity, who simply answer "he left", when ThatMob ask Verity where he left, he simply answer "He decided to go home" ThatMob doesent trust him, as he say that Twixxel would have said goodbye, Verity simply answer "I guess he was in a hurry" (even though he is supposed to know everything) The next morning, ThatMob immediately tell Verity that he will go to the east look for villages, in which Verity reply that "its not worth the trip" and that "east is mostly stripped" (presumably by Verity himself), but ThatMob still decided to go look for it. ADVERTISEMENT Quotes It's already over, Mob! You are mine! ... MOB! VERITY AFTER BEING TRAPPED IN MOB'S BASE BY THE LATTER. Verity foreshadowing Mob's failure to escape away from the former. YOU COULD'VE ... Do it. Do it if you think that'll work. IF I COULD DIE, DO YOU THINK I'D STILL BE HERE?! Motherfucker, I wish I could say I'd die alone, BUT IT'S ONE OF GOD'S BEST JOKES THAT I CAN'T. VERITY TELLING MOB TO TRY AND SHOOT HIM WITH THE GUN, KNOWING IT WON'T WORK, AND SHOWING HIS SUICIDAL NATURE. ADVERTISEMENT Trivia Verity apparently never lies, but he turns on his favourite music or stay very vague whenever he doesn't want to answer a question. It is not explained why Verity said that his Monster Form would arrive in three days. He may have wanted to give ThatMob time to prepare, which could suggest that he cannot control his transformation despite knowing when it will occur. However, this contradicts his apparent ability to transform before killing Twixxel and later return to his normal form. Verity's apparent knowledge of the future may suggest that he is aware of ThatMob's fate. This may explain why Verity kept a poker face before being caught, as he may already know what's going to happen. Verity may be an AI, though this still does not explain how he knew what ThatMob ate the day before in real life. Despite knowing what ThatMob ate the day before, Verity still asked whether he lived alone. Verity’s theme music is “My Gal,” and its use may have been inspired by this TMWU video, which also uses the song. Verity’s theme music is often heard when his Monster Form is nearby, a trait shared with Cartoon Cat and Mr. Hopp It's not explained how Verity knows things outside of Minecraft, especially about Twixxel's YT channel. He may possibly exist in real life, but that's unlikely. According to Twixxel's research book, Verity doesn't exist in the files. However, this contradicts ThatMob's claim in EP1 that he downloaded the mod from a friend on Discord, since Verity should just be a JAR file and Mob could also simply delete the world; however, this series may not follow standard Minecraft modding logic Verity cannot swim, even in his Monster Form. Some reports of Verity are older than Minecraft itself, implying there is a possibility he exists in real life. Verity is not a real Minecraft mod, instead being edited in. However, some fan works have released including Verity that you can actually play. In Lookout3d's Continuity of Verity[1] (A Parody of ThatMob's version), he is "Freaky" and became pregnant with the protagonist. (Probably even enjoyed it as he keep licking his lips with the tounge) At the end of episode 3 of ThatMob's series, Grox is given Verity as Mob committed suicide by gun. His breakdown about how he didn't ask to be made is possibly a reference to Rocket's breakdown how he didn't ask to be made. It could also be a reference to Caine, where he also has a breakdown stating "he didn't ask to be created". In episode 3, it is revealed that Verity is practically every A.I. This is proven when he states that he is/was a paperclip, referring to Clippy, and the thing on ThatMob's desk, probably referring to Alexa/Echo. He also states that he is on phones, which possibly references Siri, and states he is also on computers, which doesn't have a straight reference but could be something like Gemini or ChatGPT. ADVERTISEMENT Theories The true range of his powers are theorized to be Omnipotence, Omnipresence, and an indestructible conceptual existence. Although we have no confirmation by ThatMob's series or Twixxel's research, he is theorized to contain Omnipotence as he casually manipulates reality with just his words. When he "predicts" any type of weather or materializes Enchantments into existence, they always suit the needs of Thatmob which indicates that Verity may not be just predicting events or materializing objects into existence, but is showing absolute authority over the world. Omnipresence is another of his theorized abilities which could explain why he appeared outside the house and inside the house in EP1. He is constantly appearing everywhere and has even came out of the Void, ignored a command that was supposed to delete him, and exists in the game without code. He doesn't have a source of existence...He's just there. He's always there. Now, obviously he has Omniscience, but it is theorized that his range of Omniscience goes all the way into the real world being able to Transcend the Noosphere as he is able to see real life events like Thatmob eating pizza and Twixxel's YouTube Channel series which was precious to him. For his durability, he might not be able to be stopped by any physical to conceptual means. When Twixxel was researching, he found that Verity can't be killed by any physical means or by the Void. The Void is known for being a threat to even Creative Steve as it killed him and he was known to be impervious to any physical fire power. Not only that, not even commands can delete Verity as he most likely overrides the commands. He is also known to pre date Minecraft, yet he entered the game with no sign of any code... This means he cannot be erased and must be in the physical world. Every version of verity might be canon, shown in the strange room in the lab with multiple creator names on signs, but thats just a theory, a GAME TH- *cough cough* Another theory is when Verity realizes that his time with his current companion is close to ending, he loses control over himself. For instance, when he attacked ThatMob in EP3 and "didn't" know it was him, he showed a second side that was apologetic and started losing his Omniscience because of his panic. He might not be just one entity, he might have multiple personalities that make up one entity. This is also shown when he tries stopping himself from killing ThatMob while his other side wanted to kill him. Whenever he gets close to the end of his companion, he shows signs of instability, losing his Omniscience and control over himself. It can be argued that Verity can mimic people's voices, maybe the voices of his victims, as shown fairly early in EP3 when he uses Twixxel's voice in an attempt to comfort ThatMob (this fails, only reminding ThatMob of Twixxel's death and bringing back even more grief).
*You woke up one morning and went outside, only to find a cardboard box on your porch, curiosity got the better of you so you opened it.* Out popped Verity. *You stared at the weird looking ball in surprise, just as you were going to poke it it spoke.* “Hi! Im Verity, your personal helper friend!” *You responded,* “Hi Verity, im ThatMob, or Mob.” *The ball seemed to smile at you more affectionately, and you ended up picking it up and bringing it in your house.*
