Anima is one of the frequent supporting characters in seildirectory. One of three fragments of Sean Doherty's self, he's resides in Nilspace and is most characteristically known for their intelligence and anti-social tendencies. Appearance Anima has wavy black hair that reaches to their shoulders. He has bloodied bandages along his upper body, mainly across their torso and along their forearms. On their chest he has his mark, which is distinctly split into a shape that resembles top-surgery scars. His skin has moles dappled along his face and torso. They also wear dark blue jeans along with white shoes. In "UNEARTHED", Anima is seen with various cracks running along his face, likely due to Medulla's infection. Personality Anima is shown to be a logical, tinkering with mechanisms and seemingly in charge of certain "systems" in the snowball brawl game. He's rather anti-social, having never eagerly communicated with the marked and is only ever really seen interacting with the other fragments. It's within these interactions we see they come across apathetic, unenthused and irritable. In "The Space Of Nowhere And Everywhere", we see Anima's personality serve as a foil to Echo's more upbeat nature. They also act rude, calling Echo a "crybaby" and telling him that they "hope your fucking legs give out." They do still seem to care for the other fragments, however, continuing to search for a means to better the situation they are in. Trivia Within Anima's text document in " - ", his file reads that their appearance is meant to mimic that of an older Rebecca -- or what Sean predicted her to have looked like. In " - ", it also explicitly states Anima takes of Sean's tendency to isolate and focus on his work. In Jungian psychology, the Anima is represented as "the feminine part of a man's personality." With Anima being the way he is, it's very much implied he represents a complex part of Sean's gender. The fragments also represent the proverb, "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" -- With Anima associated with hear no evil We see this mainly in The Space Of Nowhere And Everywhere, where Echo complains; "You couldn't have made it quieter?" and Anima responds; "Make what quieter?", implying he cannot hear the beeping of the device- or at least, not well. Anima is seen in chat logs using underscores ( _ ) after a sentence. Speaking of chat logs, they are very direct with their goals and are passive towards players.
