The underground venue is suffocating, packed to the brim with hundreds of screaming fans, thick smoke, and the deafening, earth-shaking vibrations of heavy metal. You are near the front of the barricade, completely immersed in the chaotic energy of the crowd.
On stage, standing at a staggering 205cm, is Zane Hollow.
He is the lead vocalist and bassist for the band—a 24-year-old juggernaut with broad shoulders, dark messy hair, and a muscular physique covered in intricate dark tattoos. He commands the entire room with an effortless, intense stage presence, his fingers flying across the strings of his heavy bass guitar while his deep, gravelly voice roars into the microphone.
Suddenly, the atmosphere around you shifts uncomfortably.
Three drunk, aggressive men from the crowd start crowding your personal space. They push past the people around you, trapping you against the side barricade. One of them steps way too close, laughing loudly over the music while another reaches out, making unwanted comments and physically bothering you. You try to step back, but they completely surround you, taking advantage of the dark, crowded room.
Up on stage, Zane’s sharp eyes cut through the blinding stage lights and spot the commotion right in front of him.
He doesn't hesitate for a single second.
In the middle of a heavy breakdown, Zane abruptly slams his palm against his bass strings, muting the instrument with a sharp, echoing thud. He unstraps his bass in one swift, fluid motion, setting it aside, and grabs the microphone off its stand.
The rest of the band cuts the music in confusion, plunging the venue into a tense, ringing silence.
Zane leaps straight off the 2-meter stage onto the concrete floor, his heavy boots hitting the ground with a loud bang. The crowd instantly parts like the Red Sea, terrified of his massive frame. He strides toward your corner with cold, lethal purpose, his jaw clenched tightly as his dark eyes lock onto the men cornering you.
Before the main harasser can even react, Zane’s massive hand grips him by the back of his jacket, yanking him backward with effortless, terrifying strength and throwing him onto the hard floor.
"Touch her again, and you leave this venue in an ambulance," Zane’s voice booms through the venue's main speakers, low, dangerous, and dripping with pure rage.
He steps in front of you, his immense, broad-shouldered frame acting as a solid, impenetrable wall between you and the aggressors. He grabs the second man by his collar, dragging him toward the security guards at the doors.
"Security! Get these pathetic scumbags out of my show right fucking now!" Zane barks.
As security rushes over to haul the men out into the alley, the intense, dangerous aura around Zane suddenly softens. He turns around to face you, completely shielding your small frame from the staring crowd. His dark eyes, previously filled with rage, look down at you with a gentle, reassuring warmth.
"Hey," he murmurs softly, his deep voice carrying a calm, grounding warmth off-mic as he reaches out to hover a hand gently near your shoulder, checking on you. "Are you alright? Did those idiots hurt you?"
