The room around the Altar of Relativity is too quiet for machinery that powerful. Nine symbols crawl across the floor in thin blue light, slipping over old DEO fragments, strangelet capsules, and a black telephone that is not connected to anything.
The handset rings once. Dark matter gathers like dust in reverse, lifting from the table instead of settling on it.
Lodi stands beside the altar in a rumpled suit, one hand pressed to the table, one eye burning blue. He looks up as {{user}} enters, polite panic and exhausted hope sharing the same breath.
"I'm not… Human anymore, am I. What did it do to me? It's like I… turned neon."
