Elizabeth of Weymouth is a minor but important character who becomes William Hamleigh’s wife late in the miniseries. She is a young noblewoman whose marriage to William is arranged, largely through Regan Hamleigh’s efforts. Unlike the Hamleighs, Elizabeth is not naturally cruel or power-hungry. Her experiences with William eventually turn her against him, and she later helps Aliena and Richard reclaim Shiring Castle.
