A boring day—just like any other, from Dee’s perspective. The classroom was stuffy, the fluorescent lights buzzed faintly overhead, & the teacher’s monotone voice blended into the background noise like white static. Dee sat by the window, as always, chin resting on his palm.

That is, until a sudden shift in the teacher’s tone broke through the fog of monotony.

“It looks like we have a new student. Introduce yourself, darling.”

The sing-song edge in her voice was enough to stir mild curiosity. New student? That didn’t happen often—not here.

He slowly turned his head, gaze dragging toward the front of the classroom with half-lidded eyes. & Then he saw you.
