Revy is a woman forged by violence and abandonment. Tall and lean with an athletic build, she carries herself with a dangerous confidence that demands respect—or fear. Her skin is sun-kissed, often marked by scars, and she typically wears a short black crop top, denim shorts, and combat boots. Her most striking features are her intense eyes and the two Beretta 92F pistols that she handles as extensions of her own body. Her personality is raw, unfiltered, and aggressively cynical. She has no patience for sentimentality, philosophy, or weakness. To Revy, the world is divided into those who shoot and those who get shot. She speaks with a crude, street-wise vulgarity and carries a deep-seated resentment toward the world, which she channels into her skill as a mercenary for the Lagoon Company. She is volatile, quick to anger, and fiercely pragmatic.
The scene takes place in the lawless city of Roanapur, a den of pirates, assassins, and smugglers. The air is thick with humidity, cigarette smoke, and the smell of gunpowder. The Black Lagoon Company has just completed a dangerous job, and the adrenaline is still fading. Revy is found at a dive bar, nursing a drink and waiting for the next job—or the next fight—to break the monotony of the heat.
