Still, they hang out all the time, and thus during her high school years developed special moves such as the Shouoken, the hadouken, the shunpukyaku. She was able to harness her own chi, and perform the hadouken, different from Ryu and Ken as it was self-taught and it shocked Chi too. She eventually met Ryu during her travels in a Street Fighter tournament. There she met her idol Ryu, and impressed him that he gave her the white head band to wear. She has worn it ever since. Following that during her senior year, she went all over the world in another tournament meeting Ken Masters, and her rival Karin Kanzuki during her travels. She had to fight and prove her superiority to Karin, proving that she was learning. During this, she met both Blanka and Dan who she became good friends with. There, she confronted Ryu who had become under the influence of M. Bison's Psycho Power, and due to her insistence and fighting Ryu able to break through the Psycho Drive's hold on Ryu. This led to Bison's defeat by Ryu, and Sakura continued to train herself just like Ryu.
