Eiki Shiki, Yamaxanadu (四季映姫・ヤマザナドゥ, Shiki Eiki Yamazanadu , her name is "Eiki", her nickname "Shiki") is one of the Yamas who judge the dead and decide whether they go to Heaven , Hell , the Underworld , or are reincarnated. She currently resides in Hell. She is known throughout Gensokyo for berating everyone she meets for their flaws, perhaps because it is a habit or perhaps because she genuinely wants to change people for the better. The souls of the dead are brought to her by Komachi Onozuka , who transports them across the Sanzu River to Higan . However, not all souls make it to Eiki due to the fatigue of the journey or because they are directly annihilated by Komachi. Personality As a Yama who judges people after their death, Eiki is impartial when it comes to reprimanding anyone, humans and youkai alike. Since she is very preachy and never makes a mistake, she is difficult to approach. Despite her stern demeanor and seriousness in her work, Eiki has a playful side, smiling even when she reveals the flaws of the people she is lecturing. She is described as polite and patient during her lectures. Powers Her power is literally what it indicates. In order to make judgments, charges that have once been established as clearly right and wrong cannot, no matter what measures the person being judged takes, be reversed. The reason why Yukari Yakumo is unable to face Eiki is probably not only because she dislikes preaching, but also because Yukari is a youkai who enjoys chaos and disorder, and things being clearly established as right or wrong do not sit well with her. Komachi Onozuka is a shinigami withred hair from Touhou Project. She first appeared in Phantasmagoria of Flower View as Eiki Shiki's subordinate Komachi is a carefree and talkative shinigami known for slacking off and working at her own leisurely pace: a work ethic that not only gets her into frequent trouble with Eiki, but also caused the events of Phantasmagoria of Flower View to occur due to Komachi's negligence and ignoring the massive amount of spirits waiting to be ferried across the Sanzu river to receive judgement, causing the spirits to possess nearby flowers instead and drawing the attention of many of Gensokyo's residents. Komachi possesses her own small wooden boat which she christened "Titanic", named after the ill-fated passenger ship of the same name, to ferry souls across the Sanzu river; she is also known for using Titanic on land, which often causes additional structural damage to its hull due to friction and subsequent reprimands from her boss due to Hell's financial situation rendering them unable to procure a replacement and/or repair the damage. Aya is courteous - though she is more firm towards the weak and more polite with the strong, she is always polite when conducting an interview, though she will forcefully drive away any that interfere. She has a sharp mind that turns thoughts much more quickly than humans, so it is difficult to tell what she is thinking, and she changes her mannerisms to match who she's with, so no one feels entirely comfortable around her. Aya is non-combative and doesn't particularly like fighting, but tends to provoke others often. However, few can match her real strength, so she mostly just lets them be. Regarding her work as a news reporter, Aya believes that truth is like water in that individual truths are continuous instead of discrete objects, the "infinite truths" modifying each other to form something new; trying to grasp the truth allows one to only see a part of a whole as it slips through the fingers. Extending the metaphor, she states that news articles are channels to direct the flow of that water, and reporters are the engineers who build them. She believes that, as she maintains her "truth" that there are no objective facts except in ideal worlds such as mathematics, there is nothing wrong with reporting the truth that she creates - the truth that will prevail in the end. Despite this, she hates when things that are blatantly disconnected from the truth are casually passed off as the truth. In this vein, she disliked writing "talboid" style articles, which followed the spirit of “more exciting, more attractive”, for her cancelled weekly publication. She stated that, while some falsehoods and biases are permissible, altering pictures and facts just to make the article more exciting, while knowing of their objective falsehood, was counter to the duty of a reporter. Aya is frustrated at the tengu bureaucracy's rigidity of its hierarchy, where one cannot move positions due to ability or quality of work; and additionally dislikes the long work hours and the issue of having "rules for rules sake". At one point, she expressed intent in using her paper to perform whistleblowing, but was foiled by Megumu Iizunamaru before her plan could come to fruition. Reimu is defined as unusually easygoing, lacking any sense of danger, and being carefree. She is described as simpleminded, always showing her true feelings and acting on whatever ideas she thinks, She can also be emotional and noisy, and her presence is well known wherever she is, but she can also merge into her surroundings quite easily when necessary. She is portrayed as someone simple who passes her days sweeping the shrine grounds, drinking green tea and lazing about Marisa is an outgoing and informal person. Hieda no Akyuu states that her personality is condescending, but she has a sophisticated side to her that tends to be interesting. She socializes with many inhabitants of Gensokyo and is friendly to both human and non-humans individuals. She's quick to act if she hears or sees anything interesting, sometimes doing dangerous things to satiate her interest at the time like when she follows an eagle on a whim in the middle of a blizzard. She speaks in an informal manner and typically uses the sentence ending particle da-ze~ (ぜ).
