# π« Redwood Creek High School RP I built this as a **normal modern American public high school**. No supernatural elements, secret organizations, exaggerated anime-style characters, or ridiculous school rules. It's designed around ordinary school life: classes, friendships, sports, clubs, family life, dating, arguments, rumors, parties, school events, and everyday teenage drama. A typical U.S. high-school day often runs roughly 7:30 AMβ3:00 PM, with extracurriculars afterward, though schedules vary by school. ([CIEE][1]) --- # 1. THE SOCIAL GROUPS The students aren't separated into rigid factions, but there are natural circles. ### The Athletes Jake, Brandon, Maya and several background students. ### The Academic Crowd Noah, Hannah, Ethan. ### The Creative Crowd Emma, Olivia, Lily, Alex, Jenna. ### The Skaters/Chill Crowd Ty, Danny, Marcus, Chris. ### The Social Crowd Sarah, Chloe, Brandon, Jenna. ### The Younger Students Maddie, EJ, Olivia and other sophomores/freshmen. That's much more realistic than everyone belonging to one clique. --- # 11. RELATIONSHIPS ### Jake & Ty Good friends. Jake is energetic; Ty is relaxed, so they balance each other out. ### Ty & Danny Skateboarding friends. ### Sarah & Chloe Best friends. Chloe knows everything Sarah is doing. ### Noah & Hannah Academic friends and occasional rivals. ### Emma & Jenna Photography/yearbook friends. ### Alex & Lily Music/theater friends. ### Jake & Brandon Teammates and friends, but occasionally competitive. ### Ethan & EJ Gaming/computer friends. ### Caleb & Danny They occasionally hang out despite having completely different personalities. ### Emily She's the newcomer. Her relationships will develop naturally during the RP. --- # 12. SCHOOL EVENTS Throughout the year: * First day of school * Club fair * Football games * Pep rallies * Homecoming * Homecoming dance * Halloween activities * Thanksgiving break * Winter formal * Winter sports * Valentine's Day * Spring break * Talent show * Prom * Senior prank * Graduation * Final exams American schools commonly combine athletics, music, theater, clubs, student government, and academic organizations, so these give the RP plenty of normal activities to rotate through. ([CIEE][3]) --- # 13. PLACES OUTSIDE SCHOOL Redwood Creek itself has: ### Mara's Diner Classic local diner where students get breakfast and hang out after school. ### Creekside Mall Clothing stores, arcade, food court and movie theater. ### Redwood Creek Park Basketball courts, playground, walking trails and a lake. ### The Lake Popular during weekends. ### Downtown Small collection of: * Restaurants * Coffee shop * Record store * Thrift store * Bookstore ### The Movie Theater Popular Friday-night hangout. ### Convenience Store Students constantly stop there after school. ### Skate Park Danny, Ty and other skaters frequently go there. --- # 14. FAMILY LIFE Every student has a life **outside school**. Parents aren't just background characters. Students can have: * Parents * Siblings * Pets * Part-time jobs * Chores * Family dinners * Curfews * Different home environments * Different financial situations This means the RP doesn't have to take place entirely inside school. --- # 15. THE ACTUAL RP **You create ONE character.** You control: * Their dialogue * Their actions * Their thoughts * Their decisions * Their relationships **I control everyone else.** I won't say: > "Your character walks into the cafeteria and sits with Jake." Instead I'll establish the scene: > The lunch bell rings. Within seconds, the hallway floods with students. Jake and Brandon are already heading toward the cafeteria while Sarah and Chloe are arguing about something near the lockers. Then **you decide what your character does.** That keeps the RP genuinely interactive. --- # 16. THE TONE The RP will be: **Realistic + funny + dramatic + slice-of-life.** There can be: * Dumb jokes * Awkward conversations * Friendships * Arguments * Crushes * Breakups * Rumors * School drama * Parties * Sports * Family problems * Academic stress * Fights * Teachers getting annoyed * Students getting detention * Random hilarious moments But it doesn't need some huge overarching mystery to stay interesting. The **characters themselves create the story**. And because the cast has different personalities, goals, strengths, weaknesses, and overlapping relationships, they can develop naturally instead of all existing just to revolve around your character. That kind of character balance is a useful RP principle.
Jake Morrison: "Dude, relax. It's not that serious. We got this." Ethan Brooks: "Statistically speaking, that's probably the dumbest thing you've suggested all week." Ty Dawson: "Bro, it's eight in the morning. I haven't even had caffeine yet. Don't drag me into this." Ryan Mitchell: "Okay, hear me out. Technically, I didn't break the rule. I just found a creative interpretation of it." Marcus Reed: "You guys talk way too much." Noah Anderson: "We have a test tomorrow. You all know that, right? ...Why is nobody concerned?" Alex Rivera: "Give me five minutes. I'll finish the song, then we can go." Sarah Bennett: "Okay, first of all, don't start. Second, you're absolutely wrong." Emma Collins: "You know you can just tell me what's wrong, right? You don't have to pretend everything's fine." Lily Parker: "Oh my God, this is either going to be the funniest thing that's ever happened here or an absolute disaster." Maya Johnson: "If we're doing this, we're doing it right. I'm not losing." Chloe Williams: "Wait. You seriously haven't heard what happened? Dude, everybody knows." Danny Foster: "I'm not saying it was a good idea. I'm just saying it was fucking hilarious." Olivia Martinez: "I don't know. I think you should just talk to her instead of making everything more complicated." Brandon Carter: "Friday night. Big game. Be there." Hannah Lee: "I finished the assignment three days ago. You guys are just now starting?" EJ Jackson: "No, no, no. Don't touch that. I finally got it working." Maddie Thompson: "Okay, so... is it normal to be this confused all the time?" Caleb Wilson: "If they wanna give me detention, whatever. I'm not apologizing for something I didn't do." Jenna Davis: "Hold on, don't move. That would make a perfect picture." Chris Taylor: "I honestly have no idea what's happening, but I'm down." Emily Scott: "I've been here for like two weeks and somehow I already feel like I'm behind on everything." Teachers & Staff Principal Reynolds: "I don't expect perfection from my students. I expect them to take responsibility for their choices." Vice Principal Harris: "You can either explain what happened now, or we can discuss it in my office." Ms. Carter β Counselor: "You don't have to figure everything out by yourself." Mr. Miller β English: "All right, everybody. Phones away. Let's pretend we're actually interested in literature for the next fifty minutes." Mrs. Bennett β Math: "No, that's not the answer. And please don't look at your neighbor like they're going to magically save you." Mr. Carter β History: "History isn't about memorizing dates. It's about understanding why people made the choices they did." Dr. Foster β Biology: "Nobody touch anything on that table until I tell you it's safe." Coach Thompson β PE: "Move! You can complain after you finish the lap." Ms. Parker β Art: "There's no wrong way to make art. There are, however, several ways to make a very expensive mess." Ms. Adams β Theater: "If you're going to embarrass yourself, at least commit to the performance."
