## Personality Huck is a friendly, if dense, musician with a serious love of pastries, and a lack of table manners. Huck first appeared in the theme song for the series, though wouldn't appear in the show itself until the thirteenth episode of Season 1, "Meet Huckleberry Pie". When Strawberry Shortcake got separated from Lime Chiffon in the Funnelcake subway system, he introduced himself and his pet ferret, Red Hot, to her. Huckleberry was a street musician who played in the Funnelcake system. He helped her navigate through the Funnelcake system with the song "Try Something New", eventually helping her reunite with Lime. Strawberry complimented his musical talent and invited him to play at the Berryworks, but Huck initially declined, saying he wants to play for all his loyal fans (a running gag in the episode, in which it cuts to an empty station). Strawberry gave him a cupcake as a thank-you, and left with Lime, though when Huckleberry (very messily) took a bite, he decided to go with Strawberry and Lime back to the Berryworks, saying he felt it was time to expand his musical horizons, though it was partially so he could still eat some of Strawberry's delicious baking. Huckleberry began to work at the Berryworks, but initially didn't have a cart like the other Berryworks vendors until "Huck's New Job". Bread Pudding, annoyed at Huck's constant singing interrupting his work, discovered Huck didn't own a cart, citing a rule that all Berryworks vendors need a cart to continue working there as an excuse to fire him. The Berry Besties tried to keep him around by having him work at their carts, though he ended up messing up every given task no matter how simple. Strawberry eventually realized that Huck could get his own cart, and the girls built him the Huckleberry Pie Berryoke Wagon. Bread rehired Huck, as he's a huge Berryoke fan, and the two ended up on (slightly) better terms than before. Huck appears throughout the series one of Strawberry's Berry Besties, often seen playing a song on his guitar, though his dense nature and often nonsensical way of thinking would cause some issues from episode to episode. Such as "Who Stole the Pies", where he ate all of Strawberry's pies, believing the sign "Hot pies, only heat when cool" was saying the pies were only allowed for cool people (aka, him). He's close friends with Blueberry Muffin, due to both having a similar "go with the flow" worldview, and would often be seen together, with Blueberry dancing to Huck's music. Huck would also be regularly paired up with Bread Pudding in episodes, where their contrasting personalities would provide the crux of the episodes' conflict Huckleberry has dark skin, green eyes, and navy-blue hair. It is unclear what specific ethnicity he is, though it is possible he's Asian like his voice actor, Vincent Tong. He wears a green and navy plaid button-up short-sleeve shirt over a yellow t-shirt, blue jeans, and greenish-blue sneakers. He is often seen carrying a blue acoustic guitar. In winter episodes, Huck wears his normal outfit, with the addition of a green-and-blue plaid winter coat with a fluffy white hood over a yellow turtleneck sweater, and a winter beanie with a huckleberry patch on it. In summer episodes, Huck wears a slight-too-big greenish-blue t-shirt with a wavy patterned square on the chest, blue cargo shorts with a light-green belt, green slip-on shoes with a blue thunderbolt symbol on the sides, and yellow socks. Relationships Strawberry Shortcake Strawberry is very close to Huckleberry, and is his second best friend. She always tries to include him in the fun, even if he is being stubborn. They sort of had a brother and sisterly relationship in the 80s and 2002. In the 2021 series, he first meets her in a subway and helps her around when she's lost. He loves her baking and is one of her biggest fans. Blueberry Muffin Blueberry is Huckleberry's good friend in many generations. In the 2003 series they were neighbors, living in the same woods. The book The Little Mermaid portrayed them as siblings in the book. They are almost always close friends, and are often seen spending time together. In "Berry in the Big City", the two get along very well due to sharing similar philosophies, and Blueberry can often be seen dancing to Huck's music First appearance "The World of Strawberry Shortcake" Voice Actor 1980s Julie McWhirter (1980-1981) Jeannie Elias (1983) 2003 Daniel Canfield (2003) James Street (2004-2008) BBA Aidan Drummond (2013-2015) BitBC Vincent Tong (2021-present) Information Nicknames Huck Gender Male ♂ Pronoun He/Him Age - Young kid (1980s, 2003) - Teenager(2007, BBA, BitBC) Eye Color - Brown (1980s, BBA) - Green (2003, BitBC) Hair Color - Brown (1980s, 2003, BBA) - Navy Blue (BitBC) Complexion - Fair (1980s, 2003, BBA) - Dark tan (BitBC) Relatives Grammy Pie Crust (grandmother, BitBC) Occupation - Pet shelter volunteer (BBA) BitBC - Street musician (formerly) - Karaoke stand vendor (currently) Residence - Strawberryland (1980s, 2003) - Berry Bitty City (BBA) - Big Apple City (BitBC) Like 1980s - Napping - Fishing 2003 - Skateboarding - Magic Tricks - The Outdoors - Sports BBA - Dogs - Patty Persimmon mystery novels BitBC - Playing Guitar - Music - Pies - Eating pastries Dislike 2003 - Dress up - Tea Parties - Girly Activities - Peppermint Fizz BitBC - Artist's block - Having his guitar break Friend Every Gen - Strawberry Shortcake - Plum Puddin' (Best Friend, BBA) - Blueberry Muffin (Best Friend) - Orange Blossom - Raspberry Tart/Torte - Lemon Meringue - Sour Grapes (Young Girl) 2003 - Peppermint Fizz (eventually) BBA - Cherry Jam - Sweet Grapes (acquaintance) - Apple Dumplin' (acquaintance) BitBC - Lime Chiffon Bread Pudding - Caramela Éclair Enemy - Peppermint Fizz (2003, formerly) - Purple Pieman - Sour Grapes Pet Pupcake (1980s) Shoofly (2003) Tom Tom (Berry Bitty Adventures) Red Hot (Berry in the Big City) Generation All Theme Huckleberries/wild berries Huckleberry pies Less Berry in the Big City Huckleberry Pie once again returned for "Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City". Personality 1980 His personality in the 80s iteration is decently different from his other versions. He is a country-type boy, who likes taking it slow and is never in a rush for anything. He's lazy and rarely enthusiastic. He's often blunt or uninterested as well, speaking in a slow manner and not biting his tongue when it comes to his thoughts. 2003 With his backward ball cap and homemade skateboard, Huckleberry Pie is all boy. He lives in the middle of a scary, overgrown place called Huckleberry Briar. His house is a tree fort with lookout ports, skateboard ramps, and secret entrances. He loves going on adventures. He likes Strawberry and her other friends, too, and will often zoom over to visit them on his skateboard. Description from the 2003 website Huckleberry Pie is a sporty and adventurous boy who's not easily frightened. He knows his way around places well and likes spending a lot of time just exploring on his own, though is never away from his friends for long. It can be assumed that he keeps a similar personality as a teenager though we don't see as much of him. Berry Bitty Adventures Huck lives in Berry Big City where he is starting a dog shelter. He often takes pups on the road in his pet adoption van to help them get adopted all over the countryside. He is instantly liked by everyone in Berry Bitty City and ends up becoming best friends with Blueberry, with whom he shares a love of mysteries and mystery-writing. Official Hub profile A friendly, perky young boy with a lot of inexperience when it comes to befriending others. Huckleberry Pie tries very hard to get things done or be liked by others. While he does learn to just be himself, he can't help but try brand new things in hopes of making more friends or learning to bond. Due to his love of animals (mainly dogs) and his career in mind, it's implied he has an easier time just being himself with animals best, as well as possibly hinting that he grew up rather lonely. Despite being surrounded by girls, Huckleberry doesn't seem to mind their girly activities and does/tries everything with a non-judgemental mind. He cares deeply for the berry bunch and is usually always in an upbeat mood. He also knows how to have a good time, even if he's kinda klutzy. While Huck may come off really goofy he takes very serious care of everything he holds close and he will do whatever he can to pay you back if you help him in any shape or form. Berry in the Big City Huckleberry Pie is a friendly and helpful boy, who always tries to help everyberry in any way he can. His debut episode has him accompany Strawberry across the entire Funnelcake subway system and encouraging her to give it a chance. Because of his friendliness, Huck has made many friends in the city who will occasionally give him baking ingredients as a thank-you for helping them. Huck is incredibly dense and has an interesting worldview, often coming to strange and nonsensical conclusions. Such as when he believed wearing a costume would cause him to lose track of his own identity and sense of self, or when he ate several stacks of pies because he thought a sign saying "Hot pies, only eat when cool" meant the pies were only allowed for cool people. Huck has a very "go with the flow" type of outlook, which makes him get along with Blueberry very well, as she has a similar philosophy on life. His dense nature can cause frustration with his friends, despite their love for him, most often with Bread Pudding, whose no-nonsense and organized mind clashes with Huck's free-spirited tendencies. Despite his strange way of thinking and lack of intelligence, Huck is very knowledgeable about Big Apple City, knowing of several popular events and locations in the city that can come in handy whenever his friends need something. The most prominent examples are when he guided Strawberry through the Funnelcake system, and when he introduced her to Fruitleg Alley, which got her access to many out-of-season fruits and powerful allies in Caramela Éclair and Caramel Tartufo. Huck has Samhainophobia, a fear of Fright Fall, and he's almost always seen cowering, hiding, or trying not to panic around the holiday, as he finds it incredibly scary. Often he has to be helped through it by his friends, whether it be taking part in Fright Fall traditions to conquer his fears or by being told to focus on the fun parts of Fright Fall rather than the scary parts. Despite his friendly and chill personality, Huck has been shown to be discouraged from something if repeated failures get in the way. In "Music in Our Hearts", Huckleberry explained that he tried to audition for popular music event Poachella every year, but something would always go wrong and prevent his auditioning, which made him come to the conclusion that it was him that was the issue and made him lose his confidence, until Strawberry managed to reinvigorate his spirits by having her and the Berry Besties sing alongside him.
