Ebby is an acro and jazz dancer on A-Troupe. ## Personality Before the show Ebby’s grandmother taught her how to dance at a young age alongside how to “move to your [her] groove”, with this most likely being how she learned to dance in the style of “Afro-Fusion”.[1] Ebby dances as she always loved it and she believes it is something that made both herself and other people happy. Ebby likes performing as she believes that her purpose in life is solely to entertain other people through her dancing. Season 8 Ebby arrives at The Next Step Dance Studio to take part in the Challenge she makes it through the auditions and makes it on A-Troupe.[2][3] A short while after joining A-Troupe she is asked by Kenzie to choreograph a trio alongside Ethan and Daisy, with Ethan initially ignoring their ideas and feeling as if he were hated by the pair, before being convinced by Kenzie to go back into the rehearsal and allow them input on the trio, rather than take over and choreograph the entirety of the routine himself as he previously had done.[4] Ebby is later selected by Kenzie as a prospective Nationals soloist, alongside Jude and Ethan, with Ebby fighting for Kenzie's approval to perform an afro-fusion solo at Nationals, which makes Kenzie realise that the Dance captain diary won't always hold all of the answers, and realises that she should update it to include the importance of being yourself rather than changing in order to fit in with the accepts societal norms, and plans upon writing her own chapter in the diary during her time as dance captain, much to Ebby's delight. Ebby later attends Step Inside's performance alongside A-Troupe.[1][5] Following Step Inside's success at undoing Maria's dancelling of A-Troupe, the team organise a surprise party for Richelle which is gate-crashed by Maria and Lucien who aim to scout out members for their studio Ultra Elite. This initially sours the mood of the party, until Pete plays several party games with the team in order to ease the tension.[6] Ebby partakes in the large group routine for Nationals, which is choreographed by Jude. During the large group routine, Anthony heads out of rehearsal to check on Jude only to see that she is being helped with choreography by Cleo and is not crediting her for her help, yet the team and Kenzie believe he is lying and is jealous of Jude being allowed to choreograph whereas he were never asked to do so, however as she doesn't want the team to turn on him, Jude admits that what Anthony is saying is true, before Kenzie rechoreographs the routine and cuts Ebby from it.[7][8] During Nationals, upon her afro-fusion solo, losing to Cleo's solo, Ebby begins to believe that she let the team down due to failing to secure the five bonus points going into the small group round, and Kenzie attempts to assure her that this is not the case and how she were right to want to be herself rather than fit in with the social norms often represented at Nationals through the Nationals soloist round. Ebby initially disbelieves this, until she is commended on her solo by Aliya from the East-Coast division of AcroNation, who expresses interest in bringing Afro-fusion to AcroNation as the studio and its many divisions were attempting to have a wider outreach than just acro, which were the reason why Cleo had joined the team after being offered the opportunity to do so by Eldon.[9] Season 9 Ariana watches Anthony choreograph in order to mess with him and promptly takes notes of Ebby, Izzy, Jett and Xander’s weaknesses in order to use to mess with them.[10] Ebby successfully makes it onto A-Troupe following the Small Group Choreography round and the Freestyle Solos Prop performance round of auditions for the Internationals team.[11][12] Ebby and Izzy work together in Studio 1 to brainstorm the items for the welcome package that the team needed to send to L'Equipe Etoile as their first Internationals challenge. Ebby wants to send something to the team that represents Canada such as Buttered Tarts or a Stuffed Moose, however Izzy attempts to put an intimidating twist on each of these items. Ebby places items such as Hockey Sticks, Hockey Pucks and her earlier suggestion of a Stuffed Moose in the care package, however Izzy took it upon herself to write a note about how the team looked forward to destroying the French team in order to intimidate them. Ebby prevents them from sending off the note by admitting her crush on Remi to them after he commented a Heart Emoji on a video of Ebby’s Nationals Solo. After learning this new information, Izzy agrees to start the care package from scratch and get Buttered Tarts for it, while no longer being driven to intimidate the French team. When The Next Step receive their care package from the French Team, Ebby realises that Izzy’s plan to intimidate them could have been a good idea as the first thing that she notices is a picture of the Internationals trophy with a note on the back reading “Enjoy this photo of the Internationals Trophy! It’s the closest you’ll ever get to it!”.[13] Both Ebby & Ethan collect traditional French delicacies to give to Nick in an attempt to encourage him to select one of them for the exchange program to France, with Ebby even going so far as to use some French vocabulary that she was learning by using a language learning app and speaking in a mock French accent. In an attempt to discourage Ebby from the exchange program, Ethan informs her that the French eat Escargot (Snails) and lies to her that you first have to feed the snails carrots for several days in a row. Following the livestream challenge, Ethan finds an upset Ebby in The Locker Room before she informs Ethan that she can’t eat Escargot (as she decided to keep the snails as pets), who tells her that you don’t have to eat snails in France and he only implied that in the hopes that she’d give up on wanting to go on the exchange.[14] Ebby and Niall work together to produce and post videos as Niall wants to attempt to get closer to her and befriend her. Despite this, Ebby wants him to leave Studio 1 as she wants to make dance videos for Remi. After Niall finishes producing a freestyle video, he struggles with how to close his video before Ebby tells him how she thinks his closing could do with some work. Ebby tells Niall that her followers request a duet between the pair, before the duo produce and perform a duet together.[15] Ebby enters Studio A and intends to work on some choreography, however Ethan tells her to perform as far away from Nick’s office window as physically possible as he wanted all of Nick’s attention in the hope of becoming the teams soloist for Internationals. Ebby watches Ethan performing a solo and the pair work together to add onto his choreography, before the pair work on a duet together with his new plan being to have a duet at Internationals with Ebby. Once Jett and Niall arrive asking to rehearse, Ethan changes his plan again and intends to choreograph the small group alongside the pair and Ebby. When Jett and Niall ask whether they can rehearse in Studio A, Ethan changes his plan from choreographing a duet with Ebby to choreographing a small group alongside the pair and Ebby. The group perform their routine to Nick, before he informs them that their routine is a definite option for Internationals.[16] Abilities Dancing Acro: Ebby is proficient in acro.
