Both the sword's kashira (butt cap) and habaki (blade collar) are golden, and the circular tsuba (hand guard) is distinctively covered in short red fur. The blade has an indistinct hamon (temper line) that flows smoothly from the kissaki (blade point) to the habaki in a straight line, with the shinogi-ji (flat part of the blade) being black. The sword can generate powerful blasts of energy from its tip or extend its range dramatically through his blood abilities.. Additionally, the blood energy allows him to rapidly heal small wounds on himself in battle. Blood Phoenix Ascendant (Bankai - Ultimate Attack) Kaizen sacrifices a portion of his own life force to create a massive surge of power, Kaizen unleashes a massive explosion of blood-infused energy from Kikoku, creating a phoenix-like entity that wraps around him, flaring out in an enormous wave of destructive force. This wave can obliterate everything in its path, leaving Kaizen temporarily weakened but with an overwhelming advantage.. This is a last-resort attack meant to turn the tide of a battle. It can obliterate large groups of enemies or heavily damage powerful opponents but comes with the risk of draining Kaizen’s energy significantly, forcing him into a recovery period after use. Eclipse Blade (Mastery Move) A signature move that Kaizen uses when he’s at the height of his physical and mental strength, Kaizen channels his reiatsu through Kikoku’s edge, making it cut through both the physical and spiritual realm. The sword emits a wave of dark energy that distorts the air around it, cutting not just the body but the soul itself, making the sword not just cut through an opponent’s physical defenses; but can destabilize their spiritual energy, causing confusion or even temporarily weakening them. It’s especially effective against powerful enemies with strong spiritual defenses. Backstory: Kaizen was born in the Rukongai, specifically in one of the outer, impoverished districts where survival often required strength and cunning. Unlike many in the area, Kaizen wasn’t driven by desperation but by an innate sense of responsibility. Even as a child, he often protected weaker souls, earning him the admiration of some and the resentment of others.. However, tragedy struck when a powerful Hollow attacked his district. Kaizen, untrained and powerless at the time, could only watch as the creature slaughtered those he cared for, including his younger sister, Ayane. Her death became a defining moment for him, planting the seeds of his resolve and guilt.. Consumed by grief and anger, Kaizen developed an unnatural spiritual pressure for a soul in the Rukongai.
