Anthony is a contemporary and jazz dancer on A-Troupe. ## Personality Before the show Anthony used to attend another dance studio which was a long bus ride away, and so in order to pass the time during the journey he would write out choreography. Season 8 Anthony arrives at The Next Step Dance Studio to take part in the Challenge he makes it through the auditions and makes it on A-Troupe. After having made it onto A-Troupe, Anthony sees Cleo and Jude in Middle C and forgets that Cleo failed to make it onto the team and as such accidentally refers to her as still having been the Dance Captain of A-Troupe. Anthony later attends Step Inside's performance alongside A-Troupe.[2][3][4][5] Following Step Inside's success at undoing Maria's dancelling of A-Troupe, the team organise a surprise party for Richelle which is gate-crashed by Maria and Lucien who aim to scout out members for their studio Ultra Elite. This initially sours the mood of the party, until Pete plays several party games with the team in order to ease the tension.[6] Anthony is later selected to choreograph a duet with Izzy, which Kenzie may have selected as the Nationals duet, however she did not pick their duet. Anthony is later considered as an alternate, and choreographs a solo for Kenzie in order for her to decide as to whether or not he should be an alternate, yet his rehearsals are interrupted by being asked to film a dance battle between Xander and Heath, which Xander ultimately loses, before requesting Anthony delete the footage.[7][8] Both Anthony and Xander later partake in the small group routine for Nationals, which is choreographed by Jude, and later in the large group routine. During the large group routine, Anthony heads out of rehearsal to check on Jude only to see that she is being helped with choreography by Cleo and is not crediting her for her help, yet the team and Kenzie believe he is lying and is jealous of Jude being allowed to choreograph whereas he were never asked to do so, however as she doesn't want the team to turn on him, Jude admits that what Anthony is saying is true, before Kenzie rechoreographs the routine, much to Anthony's annoyance due to having been overlooked once again.[9][10][11] When the Hype'dIn Challenge is announced, Anthony attempts to support the team by preparing choreography, only to discover Lily and Kenzie recording footage of Richelle performing a solo for said challenge. Anthony notes this to Kenzie and how he believes she is a bad dance captain, only for Pete to find her performing a solo and to film this and use this footage with her permission, which she obliges towards and also informs Anthony that his choreography could perhaps be used another time.[12] Prior to the Nationals final, Lucien steals all of The Next Step's costumes and props, and offers Kenzie an ultimatum of returning it if she agrees to be Ultra Elite's dance captain the following dance season, yet Kenzie declines his offer. Upon declining his offer, Kenzie has Anthony teach the team his unused Hype'dIn choreography at the last minute, with the support of Jude, before this routine ultimately leads to the studio winning Nationals against Ultra Elite.[13][14] Season 9 Kenzie selects both Anthony and Jude as A-Troupe’s Internationals choreographers. Following Jude’s departure this responsibility lands itself solely on Anthony’s shoulders.[15] Ariana watches Anthony choreograph in order to mess with him and promptly takes notes of Ebby, Izzy, Jett and Xander’s weaknesses in order to use to mess with them.[16] Both Anthony & Jett learn from Adele that Ariana used to be the dance captain and head choreographer of Ultra Elite. Anthony finds it suspicious how she wanted to watch him choreograph for A-Troupe, however Ariana responds that you can learn a lot by studying your competition.[17] Prior to the Freestyle solos round of Internationals auditions, Anthony heads to The Locker Room in search of a prop from Studio 1’s supply of lost and found items after Eldon states that each solo must include a pro of each dancers own choosing. Anthony is surprised to see Adele also in Studio 1 sharing the exact same idea as he had. Anthony later asks Adele about her prosthetic arm and she explains that she was born with a limb difference and it’s her recreational arm that she uses for dance. Anthony successfully makes it onto A-Troupe.[18] As the team’s choreographer, it is Anthony’s responsibility to choreograph the small group livestream challenge against sister studio L'Equipe Etoile with Ariana, Jett and Niall performing this routine alongside him. Kenzie outlines the creative vision that she wants him to follow of going for Gold due to the teams determination to be Internationals champions before leaving to get direction tips from Lily. In her absence Jett, influenced by Ariana informs Anthony that she believes Kenzie’s creative vision feels like one that would be used by J-Troupe and comes up with her own creative vision of a painting backdrop and the dancers being art with this idea being rather impractical, despite this as Ariana and Niall both agree to follow Jett’s creative vision, Anthony decides that they should instead use that one before they show it a perplexed Kenzie. After Kenzie sees this routine get rehearsed she discusses going back to her more practical concept with Anthony. After Jett calls Kenzie out for being egotistical due to this, she is sent to The Locker Room to calm down, however as she still displays an attitude towards Kenzie about her concept being used, she is removed from the routine which greatly worries Anthony considering the challenge is taking place the very next day. Anthony confesses that he believes it’s finally his chance at fulfilling his dream of becoming dance captain and how he just needed to keep his head in the game and not let anything shake his confidence. Anthony, Adele, Ariana, Heath and Izzy are announced as the Top five. Anthony, Ariana and Izzy are announced as the Top three. Anthony tells Adele in Cha-Cha’s that the competition wasn’t what he was expecting and how he hoped that both him and Adele would make the Top three, before she tells him that if he really wants the dance captaincy then he needs to keep going as the competition is a good warm up to prepare for Internationals as in both cases none of the dancers know what will be thrown at them. Anthony states that Adele is correct and he has to fight for the dance captaincy if he truly wants it while hoping he could rely on her voting for him. Anthony choreographs a trio that is performed by Adele, Heath and Pete. Pete, Adele and Heath all vote for Anthony.[20] Dancing Ballet: Anthony can perform a 540 jump very easily, he can also do multiple fouettés and pirouettes. Jazz: Jazz is Anthony's dominant style, although he is rarely seen performing in this genre. Hip-hop: Anthony is proficient in hip-hop, he is chosen for the hip-hop small group at Nationals. Trivia The actor who portrays Anthony also portrays a workshop dancer in Season 6. It is unknown whether this character is also Anthony. Anthony is of both Polish and Filipino descent.[6] Anthony writes out choreography as his inspiration and first did so due to having long bus rides to his old studio.[7]
