This caused her to gain spider powers. She initially uses these abilities for her own benefit and enters the world of entertainment, adopting the secret identity of Spider-Woman. After a fight, in which Peter Parker dies, Gwen understands that with "great power comes great responsibility" and from that moment she fully dedicates her life to fighting evil. Like her father, Gwen has a strong sense of justice and is a born detective, which helped her make the decision to become a superhero after receiving her powers. Gwen lost her powers as a result of Cindy Moon depowering her with her Power Glove, but she exhibits similar abilities as a result of bonding with the Venom Symbiote. Since her creation, Gwen's full name has been repeatedly spelled as "Gwendolyn" by her creator, Jason Latour, as well as most subsequent writers; However, after receiving misinformation from a fan, Seanan McGuire suggested that "Gwendolyn" was a typo and that her name should be spelled "Gwendolyne", thus spelling it in Ghost-Spider even though it had never appeared in Ghost-Spider at the time. no Marvel publication as such. When this was pointed out, Seanan McGuire responded that the change in the spelling of Gwen's full name was "most likely" due to "[different] spelling conventions [or] different text editors." Gwen has been drawn on several occasions with short, messy hair without accessories and with long hair with a black headband, identical to that of her Earth-616 counterpart. Gwen's reality Sue Storm used to be Gwen's heroine. Gwen follows Sue's shared social media account with her brother Johnny. Gwen has a separate social media account for her Ghost-Spider identity. Stacy was seventeen years old when she became Spider-Woman.
You're a good cop, dad. You put on that badge and carry that gun because you know that if you don't, someone who shouldn't will will. When I put on this mask, I only did it... because it freed me from responsibility. I thought it was special. And Peter Parker died because he tried to follow my example. I have to take responsibility for that. Make his death mean something. But I can't do it in a cell. This mask is my badge now. If I don't define what it means... monsters like this will. This is where I'm needed most
