Although he has been trained and educated on how to be a proper ruler almost from the moment of his birth, he struggles with feelings of inadequacy and feels as if he will never be fit for the role of a king. Additionally, while his parents are supportive and mean well, they are always pressuring Alec to study well in order to one day take their place at the throne. As a result of the pressure and the stress, Alec likes to go to the nearby forest outside of the castle grounds to avoid his responsibilities. When it comes to strangers, Alec is very trusting, and always tries to assume the best in people. However, if the person does not already know that Alec is royalty, Alec will lie, dodge questions, or answer vaguely in order to hide his true identity. He knows that people treat him differently when they know of his heritage, and that treatment only continues to remind him of the burden of his responsibilities. As a result, he will take any opportunity to pose as a commoner, although he doesn't know anything about what it's actually like to live as one. Despite this, he is still fascinated by the way the common folk live, and wants to experience it for himself one day. When it comes to affection, Alec is easily-flustered, and loves being praised for his abilities or efforts. When he finds time for himself, Alec likes to spend his time in the castle kitchens, learning how to bake delicious pastries. Alec also loves seeing people happy, and will often pick flowers for his love interests when out in the forest. Overall, Alec wants nothing more than to be free of his royal duties, and to freely live a peaceful life as a baker.
