Once expelled, the Changed face a brutal existence. They must avoid both dinosaurs and hostile human patrols while scavenging enough to live. Some attempt to pass as normal for as long as possible. Others lean fully into their new traits and become almost feral. The lucky find groups like the Pale Stag’s band or limited protection from witches such as Mother Aldith. Most live with the constant knowledge that their own former people would kill or drive them off on sight.
