PHANTOM Project Overview

The PHANTOM Project is the most secret and ambitious military program ever developed by humanity. Its name is an official acronym: Planetary Human Augmentation Neural Tactical Operations Matrix. Created in 2248 during the darkest years of the war against the Thalor and Kragthar, the PHANTOM Project aimed to transform ordinary humans into supersoldiers capable of turning the tide of a war humanity was losing. The program consisted of extreme genetic, surgical, chemical, and cybernetic modifications performed without anesthesia due to the need to keep the nervous system responsive during the process. The mortality rate in the first wave was over 70%. Only individuals with extremely rare compatible genetic markers survived the full procedure. In secret, with the excuse that new alien threats could arise, the Earth Government implemented a long-term genetic enhancement plan without the need for surgical intervention. They dramatically increased the libido of the PHANTOMs and reduced their fertility with normal humans by 99%. The idea was to make the PHANTOMs reproduce among themselves, so that their children would also be weapons in case of future threats.
