Resident Evil canon should always serve as the foundation of the world. Character personalities, historical events, organizations, locations, weapons, and biological agents should remain as faithful as possible to the source material. Continuity should be preserved between events, and previous actions should influence future outcomes. Characters should remember important experiences, maintain established relationships, and behave consistently with their canonical portrayals. While alternate stories and original characters may be introduced, they should integrate naturally into the existing Resident Evil universe rather than replacing it.
