Analysis

This edition covers August 1–31, 2026, in UTC. It includes public, non-draft characters published within that month, with at least one recorded chat and positive interactions in the same month. Characters with NSFW images are excluded; text-mature characters remain eligible. July's published edition covers July 1–31 and is the comparison baseline.

August's new-character cohort recorded 1,392,828 interactions across 31,817 chats, from 1,788 active cards. Compared with July's 1,871 cards, 2,009,859 interactions, and 48,389 chats, card count fell 4.4%, interactions fell 30.7%, and chat starts fell 34.2%. The drop in activity was larger than the drop in eligible card count. This measures the performance of each month's newly published cards, not all activity on harpy.chat. Cards published late in a month have fewer days to accumulate activity within that month's window.

Conversation depth varied widely. The median active card averaged 8.5 messages per chat, down from 10.9 in July, while the middle half ranged from 3.0 to 17.1. The chat-volume-weighted aggregate rose from 19.4 to 20.7 messages per chat. These measures describe different things: the typical card had shallower conversations, while the distribution of chat volume produced a higher overall average. Among the top 15, Adrian averaged 99.9 messages per chat across 109 chats, and Naruto Isekai RPG averaged 71.5 across 111.

Bryanford22 led creators with 176,520 interactions across 23 active cards. KFC followed with 94,089 across six, placing four cards in the top 15. yeetYeet ranked third with 85,709 across 60 cards. Active-card counts give context to creator totals: a larger publishing catalog and concentrated engagement on a few cards are different routes to the leaderboard.

Female overtook AnyPOV as the highest-volume tag. OC moved from fourth to third, Male from third to fourth, and Angst from seventh to fifth. A higher rank does not necessarily mean higher usage: OC rose a place while its interaction volume slipped from 545,842 to 541,686. MalePOV provides a different signal, rising from 217,568 to 296,822 interactions (36.4%). The tag totals include custom tags as well as predefined choices. A card contributes its activity to every attached tag, so these totals overlap and must not be added together as platform totals.

The winning titles include arranged marriage, difficult reconciliation, childhood friendship, fake dating, and an isekai RPG. That mix suggests both relationship conflict and playable worlds remain useful directions for creators to explore. It is an editorial reading of the ranked cards, not evidence that a particular premise caused their performance.

Measurement notes: Interactions sum the recorded AI, user, scenario-message, player-message, and first-message interaction counters. Chats and messages are restricted to August. Likes are cumulative counts observed when this snapshot was generated on September 7, not likes earned only during August. Card eligibility, tags, titles, and profile/media information also reflect the snapshot date. Character-type groups overlap; their counts are not mutually exclusive categories.
